- Camp starts July 1st (Lyceum Kennedy Ardsley Campus on July 29th)
- This year, camp runs from July 1st to August 23rd. The first week of camp, we will only operate for three days: Monday July 1st, Tuesday July 2nd and Wednesday July 3rd. The prices for this short week are: $285 for the full day program and $180 for the half day program.
- Bonjour NY is a WEEKLY day camp; families can sign up for a single week, two weeks, the entire season, or non-consecutive weeks. We wish to be as flexible as possible in order to meet the needs of our families. Our activities are theme-based, so each week is different; your child might visit an aquarium, enjoy lots of water-based activities and decorate a fishbowl during 20,000 Lieues Sous Les Mers (1,000 leagues under the sea) week and then come back the next week to see a clown show, participate in a carnival and play team building games about laughter during La Semaine Rigolote (The Funny Week). For more details on our activities, please see the Activities page.

Morning Games
We begin the day by playing board games such as “puissance quatre,” Twister, or dominoes in French. Campers socialize, make new friends, interact, and solve game-related puzzles all in French! And of course we say the BNY camp CHEER!
Art Projects
Then perhaps we’ll move on to our “activité manuelle,” a theme-based art project. Children engage with new vocabulary in French related to the week’s theme and to the project they’re completing, use the new words they’re learning, and have something of their own to be proud of and to take home at the end of the week.
-
Indoor or Outdoor Activities
Next we’ll do some indoor or outdoor activities. Energetic, warm counselors engage campers in a never-ending supply of fun games. Campers climb in and out of hula hoops, practice theme-based songs, dance around while playing musical chairs, and look for objects on a scavenger hunt!
Lunch
During lunch, a counselor sits at each table and converses with campers about their mornings, the food they’re eating, family, friends, anything! Students learn vocabulary related to food and eating and enjoy a social meal.
-
Quiet Time
Campers then relax after a great meal with a quiet activity — lanyard making, story time, or a quiet game – and some more formal French instruction so they can rest and be physically and linguistically prepared for the next fun part of their day.
Sports and Other Outdoor Activities
Next we’ll sing a great new song while heading to the park or the playground to enjoy games and sports like soccer, tag, “tomate, tomate, ketchup (duck, duck, goose),” relay races and “123 soleil (red light, green light, 123).” Campers gain cultural knowledge while playing games from the francophone world and have lots of fun! On hot days we’ll play water games with our Slip ‘N’ Slide and water toys.
-
Snack
We provide a nut-free afternoon snack to finish our day, giving our campers another chance to socialize in French. And we end the day with our BNY camp CHEER!
Dismissal
Campers are so pleased to share all the fun they had that day with parents and guardians!

In addition, once or twice a week campers get to splash around in the pool and go on field trips to wonderful places like petting zoos, magic shows, fishing piers, aquariums, farms, clown shows, carnivals, bakeries, and amusement parks! They learn fun new songs and dances each week and on occasional Fridays are so excited to perform for parents and guardians at Friday “spectacles.”

Arts
This can be anything from visual arts such as drawing, painting and sculpture techniques to performing arts such as music, drama, and dance.
Sports and Teambuilding
We offer specific sports activities such as soccer, basketball and outdoor hockey.
-
Swimming
We offer recreational swimming supervised by our certified lifeguards, counselors and aquatics director.
Special Trips
Occasionally, our various camps will meet for a special trip like the Bonjour NY Olympics or a Bastille Day celebration. These trips give all campers more opportunities to socialize and to make friends with fellow Francophile New Yorkers.

Bonjour NY is also happy to offer a young camper’s half day for those who want to have lots of fun but are not quite ready for a full-day camp experience. This option allows campers from 3 to 5 years old to participate in all of Bonjour NY’s great games, art projects and activities from 8:30 until 1:00 PM, and return home just after lunch. Half day programs will include swimming activities, trips and lots of outdoor activities. Please note that there is no half-day program available at Lyceum Kennedy Ardsley Campus.
-
Every Monday, campers will also receive a paper schedule for the week to share with their parents.
We spend approximately two-thirds of our time outdoors at the BNY Summer Camp. Please note that the above calendar is approximate. On field trip days and swimming days, the calendar operates differently. The order of activities is subject to change and all groups will not participate in the same activities at the same time.
